Where are Betsy Faria’s daughters today? Updating

On what would be an ordinary day for Elizabeth “Betsy” Meyer Faria – even with her chemotherapy – it was the mere fact that she left her mother’s house that led to the loss of her life in 2011. What’s worse, though, is that it was not her expected terminal cancer, but a heinous crime of alleged greed that is still somehow unfolding ten years later, as profiled on NBC’s “The Thing About Pam.” Which is why we naturally wonder more and more about the people Betsy left behind, especially her daughters, so here’s everything we know about them.

Who are Betsy Faria’s daughters?

Before Betsy Faria Russell “Russ” Faria met and fell in love, she had already welcomed two beautiful daughters into the world from a previous long-term relationship – Leah and Mariah Day. However, it seems that the girls had developed a bit of a close bond with their stepfather during the decade he was married to Betsy, which is why her brutal murder essentially shattered their entire family. Russ was accused of being responsible from the get-go, leading the then 21- and 17-year-olds to turn on him too, especially over a hateful letter they believed he sent at work.

That said, the siblings suspected Pam Hupp, their mother’s boyfriend and the last person to see her alive, for someone else. “I kept thinking something was wrong, something wasn’t right, and every time we brought up Pam… [the detectives would say Hupp] physically couldn’t – she couldn’t physically,” Leah said. Mariah added: “She really wanted to see my mom that day [so I asked investigators], what about Pam Hupp, and they always had a snarky reaction. They made me feel stupid for asking… they just made my feelings invalid. But now the duo believe the letter was also sent by Pam to influence them.

Where are Betsy Faria’s daughters now?

As far as we can tell, Leah and Mariah prefer to keep their professional lives out of the limelight these days, as they want to move forward and live their experiences without prying eyes. Anyway, we do know that they filed a lawsuit against Pam in 2014 in an attempt to claim the $150,000 life insurance policy that Betsy had signed for the four days leading up to her death. It was allegedly for the two young women, but Pam never took any concrete steps to ensure they received it, and since no one could confirm the original intention, Pam was allowed to keep the money.

In addition, we should mention that Betsy’s daughters now have a strained relationship with their stepfather due to his wrongful conviction and the nearly four years he has spent behind bars. †[The officials] our family broke up,” Leah said in an interview with Fox2 Now. “And not only have we lost our mother, we’ve lost both of our parents because of their s****y research.” Mariah added: “If there’s anything I could say to Russ – from the bottom of my heart, I’m so sorry for all the things you’ve been through. If I could go back I would, but I can’t change the past, so we can just move forward and hope for justice.”

Despite all that, the natives of St. Louis, Missouri managed to carry on as they always have the memories of their mother as well as a glimmer of hope in their hearts. “We’re very strong women, and we have our own beautiful families that we’ve grown, and life couldn’t be better right now,” Leah concluded in the Fox talk. It’s also imperative to mention that even though it’s been a decade, they continue to “pray for the truth about Betsy’s murder to come out. And now we’re waiting for Pam Hupp’s upcoming trial, and hopefully real justice for Betsy once and for all.” We also know that Leah works at a diner and that both sisters are in a relationship.
