Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

The episode begins as Father returns to his duties. In episode 4, he meets the former android awakened because of him. There is an interesting moment of intimacy in episode 5 between these two androids. She laughs at his joke and he decides to remove the veil that seems to be part of his design. However, before he does, Mother calls him.

After eliminating the Trust, Mother is the new leader of the fragmented atheist colony. Holly left a message for herself and her father before joining Marcus and his followers. She dubs them her captors – which they are – and tells them that she is now with her people, asking them not to try to find her. However, unlike Holly, Mother knows that Marcus has no mystical powers, so he won’t be able to protect any of her children from the dangers of Kepler-22b. As a result, she sends Father to retrieve Holly. In turn, Father makes a deal with Lucius. If the Mithraic helps him get Holly back, he can do anything to Marcus and his followers.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 5 Ending: Can Sue now hear the voice or signal? Is it really Sol?

As Mother tends to the shrinking colony and Father searches for Marcus, Sue races against time to rescue Paul. Mother tortures Cleaver for information on an antidote, but he repeats what the Trust told him earlier: there is none. When all the avenues of science close one by one, Sue prays to Sol. She knows that any entity Marcus and Paul have heard cannot be the God, despite what they believe. However, she also knows that the entity is real and sent the Signal. As viewers, we are aware that it is the same entity that communicated with Mother and caused the birth of the Serpent.

Paul transforms inside the cocoon and transforms into one of the serpents. Sue has a vision of leeches covering Paul’s cocoon. When she wakes up, she learns that these particular leeches are found on acidic sea creatures and have healing properties. She and Campion managed to retrieve several of them and place them on Paul’s cocoon. The treatment works and Paul is cured.

Sue realizes that the vision came from the entity. In the final moments of the episode, she becomes the most recent individual to begin hearing the voice. This should not be possible, as it is believed that the signal cannot penetrate the electromagnetic field surrounding the tropical zone. Since Sue can now hear it, either the signal was intentionally shut off and the EMF had nothing to do with it, or Sue has a special connection to the entity. As the entity saves Paul’s life, Sue pledges her allegiance to him.

Are all the Mithraics dead? Is Decima dead?

Most of the original Mithraics, with the exception of Lucius and the five children, are now dead. Decima is also dead. She is the only person to notice the changes in Marcus after Mother regains her necromancer eyes. Believing that she destroyed Tendril for a false prophet, she becomes increasingly disillusioned and even taunts Marcus when he takes the Tooth of Romulus, a relic of the Mithraic religion, from Holly. After Marcus ventures into a crevasse near a Mithraic Dodecahedron, Tendril returns.

Without the synthetic skin of her face, she embodies a nightmare. She kills everyone there except Holly, who manages to hide from her. When Marcus finally emerges from the crevasse, he finds Decima’s body hanging from the craft that lowered him into the crevasse. Vrille ripped off Decima’s face, just like the latter did earlier in the season. Father and Lucius arrive afterwards. Lucius intends to shoot Marcus, but Holly intervenes. Eventually Father convinces Lucius to take Marcus back to the colony with them.
