Last One Standing Season 2: Extended or Canceled?

-

Created by Nobu and Daigo of the comedy duo Chidori, the reality genre mash-up “Last One Standing” doesn’t make much sense, but the underbelly of reality television gives it a tantalizing makeover. The comedy stems from self-mockery, shame and losing yourself in the performance. A star-studded cast ensemble made up of comedians and idols such as Daigo, Nobu, Eiko Kano, Yuki Iwai, Gekidan Hitori, Tsukaji Drunk Drago, Minami Minegishi and many more bring the heartwarming experience to life.

There’s over-the-top drama, topped with romance, high school life, police procedurals, and sci-fi wrapped in realistic garb. The cast members act like themselves in a game of truth-telling – and those who fail to evoke laughter end up dead. After the lavish first season ends, you might be in the mood for an epic follow-up. Let’s dig deeper if you like.

Last One Standing Season 2 Release Date

‘Last One Standing’ season 1 premiered in its entirety on March 8, 2022 on Netflix. The first season contains eight episodes, ranging from 30 to 47 minutes. Now let’s get into the possibility of a second part.

Chidori has not officially announced a second season, but the finale speaks for itself. The show sparks a burst of laughter for Japanese viewers, complete with a literal explosion. Local fans were delighted to know the secrets and words of enlightenment of their favorite stars, while the story always kept them guessing. However, given the format, they should get some more famous celebrity comedians from the local industry. If Netflix lord is willing, who can stop them from making a daring return? If Netflix renews the show by June, we expect season 2 of “Last One Standing” to premiere sometime in the summer of 2023.

Last One Standing Season 2 Cast: Who Could Be In It?

If there’s a second season, the stars could reprise their roles, or at least part of it. Even the eliminated ones can return, because we know they’re not actually dead – like come on. Indeed, we will see Daigo and Nobu, the real stars of the show. In the first season, Karen Takizawa assists Nobu with the commentary and she may return in the possible second season. Mukai Panther, Gekidan Hitori, Tsukaji Drunk Dragon, Eiko Kano and other comedians can take their place again, maybe even in different clothes, but as themselves. Maybe some of the up-and-standing comedians who die in the fifth episode will come back with better punchlines when they get a revival. The likely second installment may also bring more fresh faces and even surprises.

Last One Standing Season 2 Plot: What Could It Be About?

The first season follows a format in which the stars act in a complicated drama while playing storytelling games, including telling the truth, and are eliminated in the process. There are two rounds of funny stories, and jokes that don’t land at the right time can be fatal to the contestants. In the end, it comes down to five contestants: Daigo, Gekidan Hitori, Tsukaji Drunk Dragon, Eiko Kano, and Mukai Panther. The police scandal has come to the fore and with the Prime Minister gone, a riot has broken out in the streets. Fortunately, the heroes bring the situation under control through kawaii inspiration, and Mukai Panther ultimately wins the series.

Finally, we find Bahamut’s identity, while Daigo’s cryptic utterance, “Daffunda!” holds the viewers for another season. The possible second season can continue from here and describe the mystery of Daffunda. We may hear a more funny and embarrassing assortment of stories, anecdotes and over-the-top performances. It should be a gigantic mess if it’s anything like the first season, but it’s an adorable oddball for fans of the comedians. And there would be some more candid skits, revealing personal secrets of the stars.
