Billions Season 6 Episode 4 Recap

The episode begins as Kate tells her boss that she has been approached with a job offer. Chuck decides to use this information to his advantage and tells Kate to find out all she can. The story then shifts two days earlier. With VR technology, Prince shows the greatness of his vision to the governor of the state. However, Chuck’s catchy speech turned the town against the Olympics. Prince and his team realize they need an exceptional lawyer to represent the Games. They need someone who understands how the local bureaucracy and legal system works. Kate meets all of these criteria and more, so she inevitably gets the offer.

While public opinion is radically opposed to the construction of a new stadium, Taylor has an idea to appease the population of the five boroughs of New York. Apparently, there is a company called People of the World, which uses blockchain to siphon unused Wi-Fi from the existing networks of major telecommunications companies and then aggregate undetectable access for civilian use. So they can offer free public internet access in New York as a goodwill gesture ahead of the Olympics. During the game, it can be used by athletes and tourists. Plus, Taylor wants to set it up so that every time someone in New York uses it, someone in sub-Saharan Africa gets the same Wi-Fi allowance. Clearly impressed. Prince tells her to pursue the idea.

Meanwhile, realizing that Prince is setting up his proverbial chess pieces for his ambitious scheme, Chuck decides to fight him every step of the way. He reaches out to the Governor, who basically tells him that he’ll stay away from the fray until there’s a clear winner between Chuck and Prince. Chuck also speaks with the major telecoms and informs them of Prince’s plan.

End of episode 4 of season 6 of Billions: Why does Kate accept Mike Prince’s offer?

As the issues surrounding New York’s bid for the Olympics continue to mount, Prince and his team realize they need a good lawyer and end up focusing on Kate. She was trained by none other than Chuck himself. She will know how to handle all the possible problems and regulatory nightmares they might face as they get closer to the game. As Chuck’s protege, she knows all of his possible tactics and can potentially be a very dangerous opponent for the attorney general of New York on a crusade.

Prince convinces Wendy to contact Kate on his behalf. Wendy has already been caught up in the war between her former husband and Bobby Axelrod, and she understandably doesn’t want to repeat that with her new boss. But she realizes she can ask for anything if she can accomplish this for Prince and talks with Kate. For a long time, Kate was willing to venture out on her own, but she continued to serve Chuck loyally. In this episode, she finally decides to take that independent step. Kate is ambitious. You have to be when you are in a position of power.

Although working for Chuck was a learning experience for her, it had to end at some point. The problem is that her boss doesn’t want to let her go. So ultimately, she has to make that choice herself. And Prince gives her the perfect opportunity by making her the advocate for the 2028 New York Olympics. Prince is no Axelrod. Although he enjoys making money as much as Bobby, his personality isn’t hazy. He seems to have this incredible ability to inspire people. When he comes to talk to Kate that night, he shows her that he really wants her to be his pair.

Unlike Chuck, he won’t hinder her growth and they will grow together. To prove his point, he agrees to support her candidacy for Congress. This, coupled with the fact that he appreciates her loyalty to Chuck, convinces Kate to accept his offer.
