How did Brucetravious Frazier die?
Brucetravious was born in December 1989 to Teresa Frazier and Bruce Penny. Bruce came from a large family with three sisters and two brothers. The 28-year-old has been described as having an outgoing personality; he was always joking. Plus, Bruce was gay and not afraid to speak out. But tragedy struck the beloved man in Opelika, Alabama on July 23, 2018.

At around 7:48 p.m. that evening, authorities received several calls of gunshots being fired in the street. When the police arrived, they saw Bruce’s car parked on the side of the road. Inside, he was in the driver’s seat, bloody and unresponsive. Bruce was shot in the head. After receiving treatment at the scene, he was rushed to a hospital in Columbus, Georgia, where he succumbed to his injury two days later.
Who killed Brucetravious Frazier?
Witnesses at the scene told police they heard gunshots but did not see the shooting. They soon learned that the shooting had taken place a short distance away, with the car later coming to a stop. While searching the area, authorities found 14 9mm casings nearby, indicating the shooter was standing at the intersection. People there also reported another woman in the car, but she drove away, presumably shaken by what happened.

According to the show, authorities then heard about the woman, Lartosha Robinson, a friend of Bruce. She said Bruce got into a verbal argument with someone at the intersection, who then started shooting at the vehicle. As Bruce was hit, Lartosha ducked, pressed the accelerator pedal with her hand, and steered the car to safety before fleeing the scene. At that time, police identified the shooter as Gregory Jacquan Todd, then 18 years old from Georgia. Lartosha then chose him from a range of photographers.
Surveillance footage from the area where the incident occurred was later reviewed. While the shooting was captured on video, authorities believe Gregory was seen running away afterwards. While on the run, it was stated on the show that Lartosha’s caravan was also shot down. Finally, about three weeks after the murder, the US Marshal Service found Gregory in a trailer in Camp Hill, Alabama.
Where is Gregory Todd now?
Once in custody, Gregory started talking. According to the show, he had seen Bruce in the area a few times in the past. That evening, Gregory said that Bruce drove to the intersection and then drove back to him. At that point, Gregory, having had enough, asked Bruce to stop staring at him. A verbal argument ensued and Gregory fired several shots at Bruce’s car, resulting in his death.

Eventually, Gregory pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder, and was sentenced to consecutive terms of 30 and 25 years in December 2020. According to prison records, he was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for d other offences. He remains incarcerated at Easterling Correctional Center in Clio, Alabama.
