Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 6 Recap
The sixth episode of “Snowpiercer” Season 3, titled “Born to Bleed,” begins with Layton asking Pike and a few other Tailies to protect him and his family from the unknown enemy. Bess’s investigation leads her to Lights, and the train detective discovers that the bomb was made using Lights’ notes. When Bess informs Layton that only a few people even knew of the existence of the notes, the latter deduces that the enemy is Pike. Upon realizing that Layton knows it’s him, Pike runs away from Layton and his people. He meets Asha, who says she’s been hiding for years in the dark, exposing her lie about New Eden.

Ruth goes to find Roche in the psychiatric car and asks him to come back. He tells him he has no reason to do it other than to kill Wilford. Alex befriends Carly and asks her to meet her father. Miss Audrey bribes LJ to get into first class to meet Wilford. She asks Wilford to fight Layton when he is vulnerable to regain his authority and leadership in the Snowpiercer. However, a wheelchair-bound Wilford can only reject her wish and replies that Layton may be right about New Eden. Audrey gets mad at Wilford and storms out.
Ruth meets Layton and Bess while investigating Pike’s cabin. They discover Lights’ notes and give them to Ruth so she realizes that Pike is indeed the one behind the fire and explosion. As they discuss ways to capture Pike, Josie and Miles suggest “Old Ivan’s way”, a Tailie tradition in which two people discuss and solve their problems face to face in whatever way. Knowing that Pike can’t ignore the lore, he asks Pike to come to the tail to solve the problem. Meanwhile, Carly meets with Roche to ask him to resume a normal life with her.
End of episode 6 of season 3 of Snowpiercer: is Pike dead? Why is he trying to kill Layton?
Upon Layton’s announcement, Pike accepts his invitation and comes to the queue to resolve the predicament with Layton. When Layton tries to settle the case by offering luxury goods, Pike sticks to his principles. He makes it clear that he’s not someone Layton can just buy off. When Layton becomes the leader of the Snowpiercer, Pike begins to feel inferior. He begins to resent the fact that Layton is trying to control the fate of all the passengers based solely on his reasons and his wish. The power and authority Layton wields over others, including Pike, sets the stage for his enmity towards his former brother-in-arms.

Pike’s suspicions about New Eden increase his motivation to see an end to Layton’s reign. When Asha’s mistake about her former life confirms her suspicions, Pike becomes determined to see Layton’s death and he demands knives rather than a verbal discussion. However, Layton ends up victorious in the knife fight. He fights back and ends up stabbing Pike, killing him. Pike’s death gives Layton a chance to stick with his New Eden story, at least until the Snowpiercer arrives at the Arabian hotspot. Pike’s impulsiveness paved the way for his eventual death. Rather than give Layton a chance to speak up and win him over as a brother, Pike followed his instincts, which led to his own death.
Is Layton dead or alive?
When Pike demanded a knife fight, Layton was in no condition to physically fight him. Although the explosion affects his head, Layton was forced to fight Pike for his own life. During the fight, Pike targeted Layton’s head, punching him repeatedly. After paying respect to Pike’s body, Layton suffers visions and pain, only to fall. Although Layton’s physical condition is a concern, the aftermath of the explosion and the injuries inflicted by Pike are not serious enough to kill him. Since pushing his body for the investigation and the fierce fight with Pike, Layton may have passed out due to exhaustion rather than death.

Since Layton may be fainting in the tail, we can expect Josie to find him and take him to Dr. Pelton. Under Pelton, Layton could fully recover soon. Even though he escapes death during the fight with Pike, Miss Audrey’s desire to see Wilford again as leader may prove to be a difficult situation for Layton. If Pike had exposed Layton and Asha’s lie before his death, Layton’s life won’t be as safe as his guess.
