Loosely based on the first two campaigns of the popular web series “Critical Role”, the adult animated fantasy adventure series “The Legend of Vox Machina” is a treat for your senses. The universe borrows mainly from the fantasy role-playing game “Dungeons and Dragons”. The first two episodes tell how a team of seven hardy heroes, the titular Vox Machina, take on Brimscythe.
Subsequent episodes of the first season follow the story arc of Percival de Rolo. Following its release on Amazon Prime, the long-awaited series has lived up to fan expectations, and it has amassed a new fanbase as well. After the first season’s cliffhanger ended, you might be wondering if there’s room for a second episode. If the thought has indeed popped into your mind, let’s investigate.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Release Date
Season 1 of “The Legend of Vox Machina” premiered on January 25, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video, with the final three episodes releasing on February 18, 2022. Now let’s speculate on the possibilities regarding a follow-up season.
Fans have good news – Amazon Prime has already renewed the series for a second season ahead of the Season 1 premiere. Additionally, the first season will feature two bonus episodes, making a total of fourteen episodes. Following the overwhelming reaction from critics and fans, a potential third season could also be on the books. The two bonus episodes may be released in late 2022. If production stays on track, we can expect “The Legend of Vox Machina” Season 2 to air in early to mid-2023.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Voice Cast: Who can be in it?
Almost all of the central voice actors will likely reprise their roles in the second season. Prominent members who hold various positions within the Vox Machina include Laura Bailey (Vex), Taliesin Jaffe (Percy), Ashley Johnson (Pike Trickfoot), Liam O’Brien (Vax), Marisha Ray (Keyleth of the Air Ashari), Sam Riegel (Scanlan Shorthalt) and Travis Willingham (Grog Strongjaw). Sunil Malhotra could also revive the role of Shaun Gilmore. There may also be some freshly cast voice actors, but we’re in the dark with no official announcements.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Plot: What Is It About?
The first season wraps up the ongoing story nicely while leaving some open threads for the upcoming second season. At the end, Delilah Briarwood tries to summon the Whispered One for one last time. On the other hand, Keyleah’s fatal strike sees the end of Sylas. The final takes place in Ziggurat, where Cassandra deals the final blow to Delilah. With the help of his friends, Percy steps out of Orthax’s shadow. Scanlan throws the pepper spray gun into a pool of acid.
The heroes emerge unscathed from the sinister mission and Percy entrusts Cassandra with the estate and the people of Whitestone. However, Vex realizes that Anna Ripley has fled the scene – and Percy saves the battle for another day. They return to the palace, where Uriel announces his resignation from the throne, conferring responsibilities on the Council. Meanwhile, the arrival of a band of four dragons darkens the faces of the heroes.
The second episode may pick up the cliffhanger ending from the first season. If the story follows the course of the original narrative, we know that these dragons are the Chroma Conclave, who seek to return the kingdom of Tal’dorei to the era ruled by dragons. They seem angry, especially after the death of their comrade Brimscythe at the hands of the Vox Machina. The second season can start with these dragons razing the citadel.
The dragons – Raishan, Thordak, Umbrasyl, and Vorugal – would face the heroes an almost impossible challenge to reclaim their kingdom. If the story follows its original course, the heroes will find Gilmour in the ruins of the city. The potion vendor would be a great help. Would the second season also explore Anna Ripley’s story arc? Hopefully we will have more information in the days to come. But the second season will surely provide just as much fun and excitement.
