The brother-sister duo of Gyuutarou and Daki are the main antagonist of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc” or “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen”. They have lived in Yoshiwara, a red-light district of Tokyo, for several decades and have even managed to track down a few Hashira. Since they have never tasted defeat, nothing could prepare them for the events that occur when the duo battle Tanjirou Kamado and his companions. But where do the two end up after losing the high-stakes battle in the Arc Entertainment District? Let’s find out. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Did Gyuutarou and Daki end up in hell?

Yes, Gyuutarou and Daki ended up in hell. After the Upper Rank Six demons are beheaded, the brother-sister duo begin to argue. They blame each other for their loss and don’t want to take any responsibility for the loss. In the heat of the moment, Daki calls Gyuutarou ugly with anger and claims that she regrets being born like her sister. At the time, the main holder of upper rank six didn’t know that Daki didn’t really mean what she just said, and her words ended up hurting him a lot.

When his sister’s decapitated head vanished into nothingness right before his eyes, Gyuutarou was overcome with grief. He started reminiscing about his youth in the impoverished area of the entertainment district called Rashomon River Bank. From an early age, Gyuutarou was always hated for his ugly face, and the miserable conditions of his birthplace forced his mother to try to kill him many times. He ended up surviving each time, and when his sister was born, his life finally started to change for the better. They learned to fight for survival but eventually made a lot of enemies.

One day, Daki was burned alive, and Gyuutarou’s sole reason for happiness seemed to elude him when a higher-ranking demon offered the brother-sister duo to join Muzan Kibutsuji’s forces. Afterwards, they became the co-holders of the Top Six and killed several Hashira in their lives. In his final moments, Gyuutarou confessed that he had no regrets as he had received nothing but hatred from the world since birth. He reversed roles and ended up punishing everyone he met in his life after becoming a demon.

However, there was one thing that hurt him a lot. As an older brother, he failed to give Daki the right environment and lessons to thrive. The only thing he felt bad about was letting his sister down, who was his pride. After their death, he wanted to change that. In the afterlife, he tried to sever all ties with Daki so that she could finally find peace in Heaven. However, her sister protested and asked for forgiveness for her mean words. She confessed that she only said these things because she knew she was weak.

Daki didn’t want to take responsibility for their defeat, which made her angry and hateful. From now on, she no longer fled from guilt and accepted her mistakes which had cost the lives of the two demons. She hugged her brother and confessed to never leaving him again, even if it meant going to hell with him. Gyuutarou is moved by her words and doesn’t retaliate as the brother-sister duo calmly walk through the hellfire, happy that they have each other’s support.
